Kian Jamasbi

About

Kian Jamasbi is a writer and researcher trained as a lawyer, based in Philadelphia. His work focuses on international law, nuclear nonproliferation, and the regulation of emerging technologies in legal practice.

His scholarly papers are available through the Social Science Research Network, where he ranks among the top 10% of authors. His 2024 paper “Face-to-Face: Confronting Machine-Generated Evidence” — examining how Confrontation Clause doctrine should adapt to AI-generated evidence — is featured in subject-matter eJournals curated by Indiana University Maurer School of Law and Vanderbilt University Law School, among others. His 2023 paper on the Fissile Material Cut-Off Treaty was selected by the Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy as a Selected Student Paper from its Course on International Law & Nuclear Weapons; he subsequently served as a Research Intern with the Committee.

Jamasbi received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2025, with a concentration in International, Comparative & Foreign Law, where he served as a Staff Editor of the Fordham Environmental Law Review, Volume XXXII. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2020, with University Honors recognition, after transferring from the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, where he had begun studies in aerospace engineering. He attended Germantown Academy.

From 2022 to 2023, he served as Fiscal Director of Gold Medal Karate Inc., a Pennsylvania nonprofit administering an ARP-ESSER-funded after-school enrichment contract with the School District of Philadelphia. He is a member of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, the Montgomery Bar Association, and the American Economic Association.
